Doug Marteeny

Linn County District Attorny

Meet Doug

I was raised in a small farming community in Idaho where I learned the importance of honesty and hard work.  I have been prosecuting criminals since 2001.  In that capacity I have tried all kinds of cases from murder, to harassment.  As a deputy district attorney I spent time working on the major drug crime team, domestic violence team, Sexual Assault Response Team, and instructed at the Oregon Police Academy.

As Linn County’s District Attorney, I have served on the Linn County Public Safety Coordinating Council, as Chair of the Education Subcommittee for the Linn County Child Abuse Network, a Board Member of The Luke Center for Catalytic Leadership, and recently was elected by District Attorneys throughout Oregon to serve a Director in the Oregon District Attorney’s Association.

Obtaining justice for victims is a high priority for me.  During my career, I was twice chosen as Victim Advocate of the Year: in Lincoln County in 2001, and in Linn County in 2009.

My wife Elizabeth and I have five children: four daughters and one son.  We enjoy traveling, camping, and fishing.  In my spare time, I enjoy woodworking and doing household projects.

“It is without hesitation that I offer my support for Doug Marteeny to be Linn County’s next District Attorney. Doug’s commitment to keeping Linn County safe and holding criminals accountable is evident from his work in our courtrooms. I’m confident he will continue to deliver essential public safety services even when facing tough budget times. He will be a responsible fiscal manager and strong leader as our county’s top prosecutor.”

One of the best things you can do for the campaign is to advocate on my behalf to your friends and neighbors through Facebook, Twitter, and word of mouth.

Our campaign is organized into a number of sub-committees.  Many hands make light work, so we would love to have your assistance.  We could use your help to canvass neighborhoods and distribute campaign literature.  Just send an e-mail with your phone number and we will contact you to get you onto our team.
